What houseclearance.co is
houseclearance.co is a carrier network platform that connects people who need a house, office, or garden clearance with independent, licensed waste carriers who quote to carry out the job. houseclearance.co is not itself a waste carrier, does not operate vehicles, and does not physically remove, transport, or dispose of any waste. The carriers who quote on and accept jobs through the platform are separate, independent businesses responsible for their own licensing, insurance, and conduct of the work.
How posting a job and quoting works
A customer describes the clearance job - what needs clearing, the postcode, and any access details - and posts the job. Posting the job makes it visible to carriers who operate in that area, and those carriers may submit quotes with their own price and availability. The customer is free to compare quotes and choose one, or to decline all of them, at no cost and with no obligation at the estimate or quoting stage.
Accepting a quote forms a booking between the customer and the carrier directly. houseclearance.co facilitates that connection but is not a party to the resulting contract for the clearance work itself - the agreement to carry out the job is between the customer and the carrier.
Payment terms
Payment for a clearance is for the work the carrier carries out, and the specific mechanics of how payment is collected and processed through the platform are still being finalised. See the Payment and Security page for the current detail on how this is expected to work.
Cancellation
A customer can decline any quote without charge before accepting it. Once a booking has been accepted with a carrier, cancellation terms (such as notice periods or any cancellation charge) are between the customer and that carrier, and should be confirmed directly with the carrier at the time of booking. houseclearance.co expects carriers to set out their own cancellation terms clearly, but does not currently enforce a single platform-wide cancellation policy.
Liability
Because houseclearance.co is a carrier network and not the party carrying out the clearance, houseclearance.co does not accept liability for the acts or omissions of independent carriers, including but not limited to damage to property, missed appointments, or disputes over the standard of work. Carriers listed on the platform are expected to hold a valid waste carrier licence - see the Waste Carrier Licence page - and appropriate insurance, as described on the Insurance and Safety page, but houseclearance.co does not independently guarantee the performance of any individual carrier.
Dispute process
If something goes wrong with a job, the first step is to raise it directly with the carrier who carried out the work, since they are the party responsible for the clearance itself. If a dispute can't be resolved directly, houseclearance.co intends to offer a mediation route between customer and carrier as the platform develops. The specific process and contact route for escalating a dispute through houseclearance.co is still being defined while the platform is in development.

These terms may be updated as the carrier network grows and more carriers are onboarded. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

Is there a fee to post a job or get an estimate?
No - getting a price estimate and posting a job for carriers to quote on is free and without obligation. Any fees that may apply to carriers for using the platform are separate and covered on the Work with us page.
